SEO Specialist

The SEO Specialist at Sooner Marketing is responsible for improving client websites' visibility and ranking on search engines through technical SEO, on-page optimization, and data-driven strategies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to implement SEO best practices to drive organic traffic, improve performance metrics, and ensure exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues such as indexing errors, page speed, broken links, and duplicate content.
  • Optimize websites for search engine visibility, including meta tags, headings, alt text, internal linking, and URL structure.
  • Perform comprehensive keyword research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for organic growth.
  • Collaborate internally with content creators, developers, and marketing managers to implement SEO strategies that align with broader marketing goals.
  • Stay updated on search engine algorithm changes, trends, and industry best practices to continuously improve SEO results.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor SEO performance metrics, such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, bounce rates, and conversions, using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
  • Prepare and deliver internal reports on SEO progress and performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement based on data analysis.

Technical SEO Support

  • Work with the Web and Development teams to optimize website architecture, implement schema markup, and address technical issues.
  • Ensure proper management of XML sitemaps, robots.txt files, and canonical tags for improved site crawling and indexing.
  • Support website migrations and updates to minimize any impact on organic search performance.
  • Act as the internal SEO expert, providing insights and support to the Marketing Managers and Web team.
  • Participate in team meetings to review SEO progress and align on priorities.
  • Sit in on occasional client meetings when SEO expertise is required but focus primarily on internal execution.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in SEO, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), particularly WordPress.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and website architecture.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent internal communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
