Your Impact

As an Associate Director of SEO, you will lead and develop our SEO strategy to drive organic growth and ensure the success of our clients’ digital marketing campaigns. You will collaborate with other practices, manage high‑profile client accounts, and develop junior SEO team members. This full‑time role requires 2 days per week in the office.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with clients’ business goals.
  • Conduct findability research, competitive analysis, and market trend studies.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for key client accounts.
  • Present SEO strategies, reports, and results that connect with broader business objectives.
  • Oversee execution of technical SEO, content optimization, link building, and adjacent services.
  • Utilize SEO tools and analytics platforms to monitor, analyze, and report on performance.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and growth and implement improvements.
  • Deliver comprehensive SERP and discoverability reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Mentor junior SEO professionals and foster continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver cohesive digital marketing strategies.
  • Stay updated on algorithm changes, new technology, and industry best practices.
  • Create demand for iCrossing services through industry POVs and thought‑leadership papers.
  • Craft client case studies to support marketing‑influenced leads.
  • Lead new‑business proposal content and presentations focused on SEO.
  • Develop integrated go‑to‑market sales plays incorporating SEO.

Who You Are – Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of SEO experience in agency or brand environment.
  • Proven leadership developing junior SEO talent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, information technology, or related field preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEO principles, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical skills and data‑driven decision making.
  • Results‑driven with strong business acumen.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and other web analytics platforms.
  • Fundamental technical SEO knowledge; experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web design technologies.
  • Experience in new‑business processes including prospect discovery, sales pitches, and roadmap development.
  • Storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly organized with excellent time‑management, problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Compensation

For New York City, the estimated salary range for this position is $115,000–$135,000. For Chicago, the estimated salary range is $104,000–$122,000. The range for other geographies may vary. Compensation will be based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
