Job Summary
We are looking for a Technical Director— a highly competent and proactive individual who maintains a focused balance between technical expertise and interpersonal leadership skills. The Technical Director will oversee all technical aspects of productions including scenic construction, load‑ins and load‑outs, lighting, sound, and stage machinery to ensure artistic visions are realized safely and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Oversee scenic construction, load‑ins, load‑outs, lighting, sound, and stage machinery.
- Ensure artistic visions are realized safely and within budget.
- Apply theatrical safety protocols and systems.
- Manage rigging, carpentry, props, electrics, and sound.
Qualifications
- MFA in theater or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, VCarve, CNC programming, or equivalent drafting tools.
- Knowledge of additional drafting tools is a plus.
- Experience with theatrical safety protocols and systems.
