Overview
The Visual Production Manager interprets and executes design submitted by HQ, reports to the Director of Visual Merchandising, partners with local US teams, and ensures Valentino standards and guidelines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full production lifecycle for all VM assets: window displays, VM pop‑ups and caravans, props, graphics, and seasonal campaigns.
- Source, select, and manage vendors, fabrication partners, and print providers.
- Manage quality control, reviewing prototypes and approving final production samples to ensure consistency and accuracy of execution across all retail locations.
- Oversee budgets and timelines to deliver all VM materials on schedule and within cost parameters, and manage production budgets to track actual spend versus forecast.
- Prepare production documents, schedules, and communication updates for internal stakeholders.
- Plan and execute logistics for all VM materials, including packaging, shipping, and warehousing.
- Ensure accurate distribution of VM assets to stores according to launch calendars.
- Maintain inventory of props, fixtures, and graphic materials; manage replenishment and storage.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues, delivery delays, and damages, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Provide remote or on‑site support during key campaigns and store openings.
- Process POs, invoices, and vendor quotes.
- Maintain updated cost databases and supplier performance records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Industrial Design preferred.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role, luxury retail preferred.
- Prior experience in a production‑planning role with luxury fashion industry experience dealing with 3D fabrication projects including seasonal window installations, pop‑ups and other temporary installations.
- Knowledge of display fixture production, manufacturing and installation.
- Ability to manage cost within budget for each project and control the quality of installation and production.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, quality execution, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to be available on site for overnight installations.
- Flexible team player able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately to cross‑functional partners.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and track progress of each project.
- Travel as needed.
- Experience with technical drawings, 3D renderings, project management, strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, detail oriented and strong multi‑tasking skills.
- Software skills: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop, SketchUp, Vectr, Rhino.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Budgeted Salary
$95 000–$100 000 per year (based on experience).
