JOB OVERVIEW:

  • Location: Washington, DC or NYC (Hybrid / Remote) with up to 15% travel; preference for someone who can be hybrid from DC office
  • Reports to: Senior Vice President of Strategy & Operations
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Salary: Starting at $70,000 USD

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned by the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Operations.

Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Implement and manage MCCA’s communications and marketing strategy across digital channels.
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear, compelling messages that reflect MCCA’s voice and values.
  • Develop integrated campaigns that highlight MCCA programs, events, and thought leadership to drive engagement and visibility.

Digital Content & Membership Communications

  • Manage and update MCCA’s website, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timely content.
  • Produce and distribute MCCA’s membership newsletter, showcasing the impact of our programs and initiatives to the community.
  • Create and schedule engaging e-blasts, announcements, and digital updates for members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and grow MCCA’s social media presence across platforms, including content creation, posting, and engagement.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Generate compelling copy for digital platforms, reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all communications are consistent, professional, and inclusive in tone and design.
  • Highlight member and partner stories to amplify MCCA’s mission and impact.

Analytics & Insights

  • Monitor website, email, newsletter, and social media analytics to evaluate performance.
  • Produce reports with actionable insights to refine communications and marketing strategies.
  • Use data to test, learn, and continually improve engagement outcomes.

Brand & Campaign Management

  • Serve as a steward of MCCA’s brand, ensuring consistency in visuals, tone, and messaging across all platforms.
  • Coordinate campaigns and timelines with internal teams and external vendors (designers, consultants, or agencies).
  • Partner cross-functionally with events, membership, and program teams to align communications with organizational goals.

Innovation & Growth

  • Bring generative, creative energy to communications, consistently introducing new ideas to strengthen reach and relevance.
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to streamline processes and enhance communications impact.
  • Stay current on trends in digital marketing, communications, and nonprofit storytelling.
