Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications
We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative, and high‑performing Senior Specialist to join our global communications team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values cross‑functional partnership, and is passionate about telling impactful stories that elevate our brand, advance our business, and support our corporate reputation.
As a key player in our communications function, this individual will work on priority corporate initiatives such as earnings, product launches, and M&As, and will also serve as a horizontal connector, supporting teammates across the global team with shared tools, messaging, and execution resources. The role will help lead sustainability communications, including storytelling and delivery of the annual Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) report.
Reporting to the Lead, Corporate Communications, the Senior Specialist will play a critical role in supporting issues and crisis management activities to protect and enhance the company’s reputation. This role also supports the development and execution of corporate communications programs that promote Resmed’s brand and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Support enterprise‑level communications across quarterly earnings, M&A, corporate initiatives, product launches, events, and company‑wide announcements. Develop quarterly data summaries of earnings communications performance that inform overarching strategy.
Partner cross‑functionally with Investor Relations, Product, Legal, Medical Affairs, and Executive teams to execute integrated communications plans.
Help ensure consistency and alignment across all internal, external, and executive channels.
In collaboration with the Lead, Corporate Communications, execute crisis communications strategies, including drafting talking points, FAQs, media responses, and internal guidance.
Manage and maintain the company’s crisis communications playbook—updating it with new insights and best practices, coordinating stakeholder training, and tracking engagement and adoption.
Contribute to crisis communications planning and readiness, supporting scenario development, tabletop exercises, and continuous improvement of global response protocols.
Monitor and analyze key industry news and trends to inform communications strategies.
Maintain and update corporate website content to ensure consistent storytelling aligned with Resmed’s brand voice and reputation goals.
Partner with Investor Relations, Product, Legal, Medical Affairs, and the Executive team to develop proactive and reactive communications.
Draft and edit a wide range of communications content including press releases, media statements, executive bios, fact sheets, messaging frameworks, social media content, and internal articles.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate media outlets directly and through agency partners.
Create ideas to tell Resmed’s stories through its corporate channels.
Manage incoming media inquiries and prepare company spokespeople for media engagements and interviews.
Ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across global communications initiatives.
Partner with Legal, Investor Relations, and Sustainability teams to support ESG storytelling and reporting.
Assist in planning, writing, and coordinating the annual ESG report and related campaigns.
Contribute to proactive sustainability communications across owned and earned channels.
Serve as a key support to the Corporate Communications team, helping coordinate campaigns, manage calendars, and maintain templates, dashboards, and playbooks.
Drive alignment across teams and regions to ensure communications contribute to a unified corporate narrative.
Track and report on communications performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of PR experience plus 3–5 years of proven experience managing crisis communications in a global, regulated industry.
Demonstrated expertise in corporate media relations and communications.
Demonstrated experience leveraging digital and owned channels to enhance corporate storytelling, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure brand consistency across platforms.
Exceptional writing and editorial skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives that align with corporate goals and strategy.
Experience managing multiple stakeholder needs and delivering impactful communications across various channels.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate issues, connect insights, and deliver proactive communications solutions.
Proven ability to elevate the corporate narrative, engage key audiences, measure effectiveness, and adjust strategies as needed.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, execute, and follow through with minimal supervision.
Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, using sound judgment on when to escape.
A four‑year degree or higher in communications, PR, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communications with a global company or clients via a PR agency.
