The Divisional Leader of Marketing (DLM) is a company and department leadership role responsible for developing marketing strategies and activation plans at the restaurant, market, regional, and divisional levels. Impact and Responsibilities
Develops and executes plans in alignment with brand standards designed to achieve the field‑based support team’s goals. Partners with the Director of Media Planning to ensure the correct strategy is deployed in each DMA and provides market insights. Collaborates with leaders from the field‑based support team and FP&A to analyze sales and customer traffic to keep management informed of trends and underperforming restaurants. Maintains a detailed marketing budget that outlines all costs affecting the restaurant level marketing spend. Sources, selects, and hires high‑caliber crew members that balance the company’s growth plans, opportunities, and resources. Builds a world‑class restaurant marketing team and provides coaching to reinforce Cane’s brand and marketing philosophies. Aligns with the Divisional Leader of Restaurants on priorities, business needs, and goals. Spends time in markets and restaurants to actively participate in daily discussions on restaurant performance, execution of marketing philosophies, and development of plans. Manages program effectiveness by ensuring alignment to ROI methodologies, consistent execution, and follow‑ups. Evaluates sponsorship opportunities and manages regional sponsorships and budgets to ensure proper management, execution, and maximization of all sponsorships. Collaborates with the RSO Marketing team to implement systems, campaigns, and programs. Drives sustainable growth efforts and awareness of consideration for Raising Cane’s. Leverages customer insights to develop effective restaurant marketing plans. Identifies opportunities to drive traffic and brand awareness through grassroots marketing efforts. Oversees the planning and execution of community partnerships. Qualifications
10+ years of marketing experience required. Experience leading high functional teams with multiple direct reports – remote crew member leadership experience preferred. Field marketing experience in a multi‑unit restaurant/retail environment. Knowledge and experience working with media and sponsorships including establishing new relationships, negotiating contracts, implementing assets, and assessing impact. Experience with new restaurant openings and new market entry strategy development and implementation. Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing. Self‑driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively. Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Able to travel up to 70% within designated area. Bachelor’s degree required – Marketing & Communications degree preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license. Additional Information
The physical work environment includes working in a fast‑paced kitchen environment (which requires extended periods of physical exertion, such as walking, standing, lifting and bending) and interacting with customers. It also includes both inside and outside work in varied temperatures, working with and around food products, common allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products that require the use of personal protective equipment and physical activities necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.
