Communications Manager – Stony Brook, NY Salary:

$70,000 – $75,000 per year

Job Summary CulinArt is seeking a hospitality‑mindful Communications Manager to join the dynamic on‑campus team at Stony Brook University. This role will manage and support the communication strategy for CulinArt @ SBU while maintaining assigned projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and supporting internal communications initiatives such as soliciting, proofing, editing, and organizing content & design for associate communications, newsletters, and company‑wide announcements.

Building and executing an ongoing social media content strategy, generating story ideas, planning campaigns, writing, editing, and publishing content for platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Conducting ongoing social media and content audits to evaluate effectiveness, receptivity, and recall, and taking appropriate actions based on results.

Managing content distribution and team project management across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and digital marketing tools.

Originating and overseeing the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure consistency with the organization’s brand, including white papers, website copy, and more.

Supporting external communications initiatives by creating content for clients, outside shareholders, and brand awareness opportunities.

Assisting with communication and partnership opportunities for community and program initiatives, and managing all company award submissions.

Role Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate communications role; experience managing others (interns or specialists) a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Proficiency with digital food photography and videography a plus.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Strong project management skills and ability to multi‑task.

Ability to build and manage corporate relationships with key influencers, including senior support teams and operational leaders.

Extreme attention to detail; self‑directed and proactive.

Works well under pressure and adapts to short deadlines and tight turnaround situations.

Readily accepts ownership and maintains a positive, supportive attitude with a "team" mentality.
