Responsible for planning & executing social media campaigns for our clients – focusing on influencer marketing, community management, social media trend reporting, and social listening

Our headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations – Stamford, CT, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Octagon, the world’s premier global sports marketing agency, is seeking a new Community Manager to join its growing digital strategy practice.

The Community Manager will play a key role in building, maintaining, and nurturing a loyal and engaged community for our client in the CPG space (energy category). You will be responsible for running our brand client’s Instagram, TikTok, and X/Twitter channels – wearing multiple hats, including copywriter and hands on-keys lead, the social voice behind the channels.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

Oversee and manage communities on Instagram, TikTok, and X/Twitter, including publishing content, responding to comments, and moderating DMs

Prepare monthly content calendars spanning multiple content streams, applying critical thinking to determine the optimal times and channels to post.

Craft copy for Instagram, X/Twitter, and TikTok channels in the client’s brand voice.

Partner with the creative team to identify assets needed for social promotion across channels

Engage regularly with fans across platforms to promote positive interactions and foster a sense of community

Respond promptly to community feedback, questions, and concerns, following established processes to address with client when necessary

Spot trends, creators, and conversations and make recommendations on when the brand should jump in

Collaborate with the client team to communicate updates, address common issues, and provide insights that help shape future content

Monitor, analyze, and report on sentiment and engagement metrics, using these insights to refine strategies

Coordinate with the client team to align social initiatives with broader brand goals

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

1-3 years of experience in social media management and community engagement

Proven experience managing a community on X/Twitter and Instagram, familiar with leveraging platform features to tell a brand’s story

Expertise in social copywriting for platforms including Instagram, X/Twitter, and TikTok

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to capture and represent brand voice

Deep understanding of social media platforms and tools

A proactive approach to community building, with a focus on product promotion

Ability to analyze data and adjust strategies to foster a vibrant, active community

Strong creative instincts and storytelling skills that feel natural across social channels

You’re ahead of what’s trending in social; what’s resonating with consumers, what platforms are growing, what content rises above the rest – and a passion for/expertise in sports, entertainment, music, and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture

This position pays $50,000- 55,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
