Position Title BIM Specialist & Technical Solutions Designer
Job Summary
Create and maintain BIM/Revit families for Lumicor’s architectural products, including panels, tiles, hardware, lighting, and specialty systems.
Build parametric families that reflect real-world fabrication constraints: standard sizes, thicknesses, edge conditions, translucency/light-transmission considerations, tolerances, and finish options.
Model Lumicor hardware and installation systems as nested Revit families—mounting brackets, substructures, channels, fasteners, connectors, trim, and assembly logic—so designers can specify complete, accurate systems.
Develop a phased BIM roadmap, prioritizing Lumicor’s highest-volume and highest-impact product lines first, then expanding to full catalog coverage.
Partner with Engineering and Product teams to capture up-to-date product geometry, fabrication methods, and installation requirements.
Coordinate with Marketing to publish and maintain BIM objects in external libraries (e.g., ARCAT, BIMObject) and on Lumicor.com, including clear metadata and spec references.
Support Solutions & Drafting with technical drawings, shop/fabrication details, custom resin assemblies, hardware variations, and Revit/AutoCAD drafting.
Provide guidance to Sales, Reps, and Project teams responding to architect/designer technical questions.
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience creating Revit/BIM content, preferably for architectural products, materials, or fabrication-based systems.
Advanced Revit family skills: parametric controls, nested components, shared parameters, type catalogs, and file-performance optimization.
Experience modeling architectural material systems (panels, wall finishes, tile/surfacing, lighting‑adjacent materials, or similar).
Comfort modeling hardware/installation assemblies and representing how products connect, mount, and resolve at edges.
Strong ability to interpret fabrication drawings, part tolerances, and install methods and translate them into accurate BIM objects.
AutoCAD proficiency preferred; familiarity with Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar tools a plus.
Organized and detail-driven.
Clear communicator who thrives in a lean, collaborative environment.
