Telework This position works on-site in the Minnesota Senate Building and Capitol during the legislative session. When the legislature is not in session, flexible hybrid options may be available.
Days of Work/Hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Department Senate Majority Communications
Reports to Assistant Director of Majority Communications

Position Summary This position will be responsible for managing and building on the Senate DFL Caucus digital media presence.
This includes managing caucus social media accounts, providing social media guidance to members, producing high‑quality video projects, coordinating digital projects with our media staff, and implementing strategic communications plans for the caucus.
Ideal candidate will have strong written, verbal and technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of social media platforms and strategies, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet various deadlines under pressure, and proven experience in developing and applying caucus‑wide messaging via digital media.
Video editing and graphic design skills are strongly desired.
This position works with all members and staff of the Senate DFL Caucus.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
OR two (2) years of experience in advertising, digital media, video editing, audio, public relations, writing, journalism, or related fields.
One (1) year experience managing and building professional social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/BlueSky, and TikTok.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud with an emphasis on Premiere Pro, Canva, and other software for graphic design and video editing projects.
Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours as needed, primarily during the legislative session.
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to work in a collaborative and fast‑paced environment on a variety of different subjects.
Working understanding of the Minnesota legislative process.
Ability to produce accurate and quality work under significant time constraints.
Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality.
