Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a

Director of Marketing and Communications

to join our Development team. The Director leads the development of marketing/communications strategies and all internal and external marketing/communications functions for the organization including content development. This position ensures the integration of effective marketing and communication strategies across all functional areas of the organization while strengthening community awareness of the Mission, growing donor relationships, and exceeding fundraising goals.

Job Responsibilities Marketing and Brand Management

Develops, coordinates, and implements high level integrated, multi-channel campaigns around marketing and general brand awareness that positions the Mission as a non-profit leader while supporting the Mission’s fundraising and programmatic goals.

Directs strategic brand initiatives, ensures brand consistency in all Mission programs and communications, and manages cross-functional efforts related to furthering the mission of Nashville Rescue Mission.

Co-manages and maintains relationships with vendors to provide added value and develops savings opportunities in the areas of advertising, creative, and printing, that don’t reduce the quality or caliber of campaigns.

Works in collaboration with Vice President of Development to develop and manage annual marketing budget.

Team Development

Leads the Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications with both oversight and hands‑on support in developing and implementing creative and marketing projects, direct response marketing and fundraising, content strategy, branding, and advertising.

Serves as a mentor to Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications.

Other Duties:

Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related areas required.

5+ years’ proven experience in developing and implementing innovative marketing and communications strategies. Experience in fundraising is preferred.

Proven collaborator and influencer who can serve the needs of internal and external stakeholders and can lead interdepartmental initiatives to collectively accomplish organizational goals.

Strategic and results-oriented leader who can translate business and operations plans into marketing and communication strategies.

Sets priorities and executes against them, while also seeing to immediate organizational needs.

Technologically proficient in digital marketing tools, CRM tools, and fundraising software.

Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to generate high level content and oversee staff in the creation of content.

Ability to qualify as a designated Mission vehicle driver under NRM insurance policy:

Valid driver’s license

Have no more than two moving violations in a 3-year period or more than one accident in a 1-year period

Proof of insurance on personal vehicle (current)

Physical Factors:

Regularly include standing, walking, reaching, lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, pushing and pulling, lifting up to 30 pounds or less, climbing stairs, and driving to/from meetings. Regularly include typing/computer usage and speaking skills. Regularly include moderate reading and writing skills; ability to prepare communication using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphases; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
