Responsibilities
Engineer, design and implement Unified Communications/Collaboration voice/video network, systems, and services (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco Unity, Connection & Unity Express, Dial Plans, Calling Search Spaces and Partitions, Call Admission Control, Voice Gateways, and other Session Border Controllers).
Maintain a strong understanding of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), H.323, Solutions for Suggested Corridors Program (SCCP) protocols and codecs and be able to implement and integrate into new and existing network environments.
Identify and troubleshoot VoIP and Video QoS issues and recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, Voice, and Video.
Maintain knowledge of QoS and Call Admission Controls (CACs) and skills in troubleshooting complex networks regarding call routing and gateways.
Analyze a myriad of networking metrics and recognize sub-par network performance.
Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.
Provide General IT Management support.
Provide General Networking support.
Provide LAN support.
Provide WAN Enterprise support.
Provide technical and general O&M support as required.
Provide documentation/reports support as required.
Provide meetings/briefings support as required.
Provide functional training support as required.
Provide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.
Provide CONUS TDY support as required.
Qualifications
B.S. in related field and 5 or more years' relevant IT experience OR 7 or more years' relevant IT experience.
Knowledge of what constitutes a "threat" to a network.
Skill in providing feedback to enhance future collection and analysis.
Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft server installation, roles, active directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.
Certifications: VCTA, CCNP, ITIL Foundation (candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification).
