Position Overview
Actalent is seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer with a minimum of 4 years of MEP plumbing design experience. The role involves designing comprehensive plumbing systems using Revit and AutoCAD for various building types, including water, storm, gas, medical gas, fire protection, and sanitary systems from inception to completion. The designer will evaluate system options and provide bid and construction phase services, such as reviewing bids, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, participating in project walk-throughs, and providing field observation reports.
Responsibilities
Design plumbing systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
Create systems for water, storm, gas, medical gas, fire protection, and sanitary systems.
Evaluate and analyze different system options.
Provide bid and construction phase services.
Review bids and answer RFIs.
Review shop drawings and participate in project walk-throughs.
Provide field observation reports.
Essential Skills
4+ years of MEP plumbing design experience.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with projects in diverse sectors such as K‑12, Government, Higher Education, Offices, Healthcare, Labs, and Multi‑Family.
Work Environment The role is primarily based in the office, with remote work available on Wednesdays after the first 6 weeks. The workplace has a casual dress code and offers a hybrid work model. Employees enjoy vacation pay from Christmas to New Year’s, and each pay period includes 6 hours of PTO. Quarterly, any PTO exceeding 300 hours is compensated at two‑thirds of the rate.
Job Type & Location Permanent position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits Salary range: $55,000 – $75,000 per year.
