Required Qualifications
Doctorate in British Literature is required. ABD applicants will be considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2027.
Two years of teaching experience in British literature or related subjects (graduate student teaching accepted).
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in World Literature or Literary Theory.
Primary Responsibilities
Teaching a 4-4 course load of face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online undergraduate and occasional graduate courses.
Courses include British literature surveys, Shakespeare, other literature courses, as well as composition.
Advising students and mentoring English majors’ activities and organizations.
Scholarly research and publication.
Participating in curriculum development and assessment.
Engaging in service to the department, college, and university, and community.
Position is security sensitive. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

It contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On‑Campus Student Housing Facilities; in non‑campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On‑Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
