Base pay range $150.00/yr - $190.00/yr
About the Role We are seeking an experienced RF Front-End Engineer to advance the next generation of a compact, field‑deployable RF sensing and characterization device. This platform continuously monitors a wide range of RF activity (50 MHz to 6 GHz) and provides real‑time visibility into signal behavior, strength, and temporal dynamics.
The ideal candidate is deeply skilled in RF circuit design, signal detection methodologies, and embedded system integration, and enjoys building ruggedized, high‑performance solutions for challenging operational environments.
This is an onsite role located in Marina Del Rey, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and refine RF front‑end circuitry for a wideband RF sensing platform (50 MHz–6 GHz), prioritizing high sensitivity, low noise, and compact, efficient implementation.
Develop and optimize detection, measurement, and characterization techniques to extract key signal attributes—such as type, power levels, and temporal behavior—in real time.
Partner with firmware, software, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration between RF front‑end components and system‑level processing and visualization tools.
Perform simulations, prototyping, validation, and iterative tuning to meet performance requirements across varied operational and environmental conditions.
Optimize designs for size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP‑C) to support portable, field‑ready deployments.
Identify, diagnose, and mitigate RF interference, noise sources, and signal integrity challenges.
Produce clear documentation for design decisions, test methodologies, performance metrics, and certification support.
Monitor emerging RF technologies to continuously drive product improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related discipline.
5+ years of hands‑on experience in RF front‑end design (LNAs, mixers, filters, amplifiers, etc.).
Demonstrated experience in RF signal detection, measurement, or wideband sensing systems.
Proficiency with RF simulation and modeling tools (ADS, Cadence, HFSS, etc.).
Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware integration for RF hardware.
Expertise in RF circuit design and PCB layout up to 6 GHz.
Strong understanding of interference mitigation and signal integrity best practices.
Experience with real‑time signal processing concepts and data presentation pipelines.
Proficiency with RF test equipment (network analyzers, signal generators, measurement tools).
Familiarity with PCB design suites such as Altium or OrCAD.
Understanding of embedded programming (C/C++, Python) for hardware–software interfacing.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with ruggedized, tactical, or mission‑critical RF systems.
Exposure to FPGA‑based real‑time processing architectures.
Knowledge of environmental and durability standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑810).
Experience in a fast‑paced start‑up environment.
Additional Information Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full‑time hires, you may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the
form of stock options , and access to
medical, vision & dental coverage
as well as
access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
