About The Role

This is a senior executive position reporting directly to the President & CEO, overseeing a cross‑functional team that includes Marketing, PR, Research, and the St. Louis Film Office. The role requires in‑office leadership and residency within the St. Louis region. As the Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead our marketing strategy, driving innovative campaigns that captivate audiences and elevate our brand presence. You’ll shape our vision and ensure every marketing initiative aligns with our business goals. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and evolution of the St. Louis destination brand to drive visitation, economic impact, and civic pride. Direct integrated marketing and communications across paid, earned, shared, and owned media. Oversee digital innovation and content strategy, leveraging AI, data analytics, and emerging technologies. Align marketing with broader economic development and sustainability goals. Guide research and analytics to track visitor trends, ROI, and brand performance. Foster strong partnerships with business, civic, and hospitality leaders locally and globally. Lead, mentor, and inspire a creative, high‑performing marketing team. Qualifications And Skills

15+ years of progressive leadership in destination or travel marketing; C‑suite DMO experience preferred. Proven success managing complex, multi‑channel marketing programs and dynamic teams. Experience leveraging film and video production for destination visibility or brand lift. Experience in destination marketing for leisure, travel trade and meeting‑convention segments. Experience in international tourism marketing and Brand USA partnerships. Expertise integrating research, analytics, and technology into strategic decisions. Skilled storyteller with an analytical mindset and a collaborative, inclusive leadership style. CDME and/or DMAP accreditation experience preferred. Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in destination marketing or travel‑focused marketing; C‑suite destination marketing experience preferred. Collaborative leader skilled at inspiring cross‑functional teams. Commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility and sustainable travel in destination marketing. Compensation
