Lead of Sports Marketing – Canada
We are looking for a Lead of Sports Marketing for a top fashion client in Toronto. The Lead oversees the athlete/influencer, grassroots, and properties portfolio in Canada. The role builds authentic connections between the brand, athletes, and culture.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute Canadian sports marketing strategy aligned to global brand priorities and local business objectives.
Manage Athlete/Influencer, Grassroots, and Partnerships negotiations, onboarding, servicing and events to strengthen brand credibility and relevance.
Manage Canadian integration into the GTM process and heavily influences our athlete selection for campaigns and activations.
Assist in the execution of seasonal product planning, seeding products, inputs & forecasts orders when necessary for Athletes/Influencers, Grassroots, Partnerships and any in market events associated.
Manage external communication with Athletes/Influencers, Agents, Partners and Agencies as applicable.
Responsible for overseeing the annual sports marketing budget including T&E, Asset and Marketing expenses, ensuring effective investment and measurable business impact.
Foster strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams and global counterparts in Product, Innovation, Finance, Brand, Ops, Global Strategy, Communication, Events.
Report on partnership performance, KPIs and ROI to key stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Keynote.
Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Deep understanding of the Canadian sport landscape.
Contract negotiating and relationship management.
Experience leveraging data and insights to drive marketing decisions.
Maintain composure in high stress situations.
4-6 years of relevant Sports Marketing experience.
BA Required.
Proven track record in athlete management, sponsorship strategy and activation.
Prior experience working for a company with a strong, premium brand and a distinct culture.
