Legislative Scheduler & Outreach Coordinator . This role supports senior leadership by organizing and tracking key meetings with elected officials and government stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the legislative and public policy environment, thrives on follow-through, and brings a high level of professionalism and discretion to every interaction.
While not a lobbying role, this position is vital to the organization’s advocacy strategy and public affairs success.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and schedule meetings between senior leadership and elected officials across city, state, and federal levels
Proactively track down key contacts, cold outreach when needed, and build respectful relationships with legislative offices
Keep up-to-date contact lists, communication logs, and scheduling trackers
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and follow-up documentation
Maintain a polished, professional tone in all communication (written and verbal)
Act as a central liaison between leadership and the external policy world
Qualifications
1–2+ years experience in government affairs, legislative scheduling, public administration, or a related role
Understanding of legislative structures and how to navigate elected officials’ offices
Clear, confident communicator—both in writing and over the phone
Persistent and proactive—able to chase down hard-to-reach contacts while remaining respectful
Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
Highly polished, poised, and discreet—able to represent the organization professionally at all times
