Overview
MLS Media Operations is looking for an innovative Manager, Media Assets to join the team. MLS Media Ops performs various functions around our media assets and workflows. You will be responsible for increasing the quality, efficiency, and efficacy of our asset management processes. This role will have a heavy focus on managing the matchday and historical media assets including their safe storage, organization, and delivery.
Responsibilities
Support matchday & tentpole event content creation needs and media asset management needs
Manage the ingest, organization, and archive processes for MLS, Leagues Cup, MLS NEXT PRO, and MLS NEXT; all MLS/SUM properties
Manage the migration of media from legacy hardware to current asset management platforms
Conform and deliver media for internal and external users
Act as subject matter expert for users by assisting in the identification of media assets
Communicate with users regarding media management procedures and standard methodologies
Cross-functional support across media teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required, media studies, library science or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in digital media management
Required Skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to problem solve and recommend workable solutions
Experience with industry standard video & photo formats (h264, ProRES, DNxHD, XDCam, etc.)
Experience working with media centric platforms, like EVS and an asset management platform like Dalet, Iconik, Imagen, and/or Mediabank
Understanding of Mac & PC operating systems
Experience with file delivery solutions (ex: FTP, Box, Dropbox, Aspera, Signiant)
High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desired Skills
Basic understanding of cloud technologies
A passion for soccer and specifically MLS
Experience with live content production – studio or field
Schedule
MLS Off-Season, Monday through Friday Business Hours
MLS Season schedule, match night and weekend game schedule
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays a must
Flexibility required to accommodate event demands and travel for league tent pole events
