Available Position: Architectural Assistant Designer
Office Location: Lexington, Massachusetts (not a remote position)
Assistant Designer will help with the design and development of projects from start to finish. This will include documentation from existing conditions through to completion of construction level drawings, preparation of vison boards, assisting Lead Designers on selection of fixtures and finishes, and working collaboratively with Designers and production teams to assemble estimated construction costs in the Schematic Design Development, and Construction Documentation phases. Candidate must be able to switch between several tasks as position requires assistance on multiple projects that are in different phases of design.
Position will require the use of the following software:
AutoCAD
Revit
Bluebeam Revu
SketchUp
Gather It
Adobe InDesign / Acrobat
Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Absolutely enthusiastic and passionate about residential remodeling and servicing clients
Minimum of 1 year working experience in Residential Design; 2-3 years is preferred.
Degree in Architecture or Construction Management; Accredited Architectural Degree preferred.
Have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.
Required Skills:
Comfortable taking directions from others.
Comfortable working on several projects varying in size and complexity.
Ability to work collaboratively with other design and construction professionals.
Proficient in English language (speaking, writing, and reading) is must.
Desire to create awarding winning residential design.
Willingness to learn our Design-Build process.
A background in the carpentry/building trade is a huge plus.
Knowledge of Passive House, and/or other building science standards is a plus.
Familiarity with 3D scanning practices and workflow is a plus.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 annually
Health Insurance — 100% of premium paid for employee and family.
SIMPLE IRA — up to 3% company match
Paid Time Off — increases based on years of service
Paid Holiday — 9 days
Annual bonus/profit sharing based on company results.
