Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Strategic Advisor, Communications & Stakeholder Relations in Tulsa, OK with a strong background in communications and stakeholder management to support our Tulsa operations. This role plays a key part in developing clear, consistent, and compelling communication strategies that support business objectives and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders. It will help enhance the company's reputation through thoughtful engagement and collaboration across teams and communities.
Job Duties
Develops and implements strategic communication plans that support stakeholder engagement efforts, community relations and reputation management for the Tulsa refinery with potential to expand across additional sites.
Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including HR, Legal, Operations and Government Affairs to align communication strategies with stakeholder needs.
Provides strategic counsel to senior leadership, serving as a critical partner in shaping messaging, engagement strategies and communication timing for key initiatives and issues.
Drives external and internal communications that promote understanding of HF Sinclair's community impact, reinforce company values and support stakeholder trust and transparency.
Leads and supports crisis and issues communications, contributing to planning and execution in coordination with the Corporate Communications team to manage sensitive situations and protect organizational reputation.
Manages stakeholder mapping and engagement planning, identifying key audiences and tailoring outreach strategies to foster meaningful relationships and long-term support.
Monitors and evaluates communication effectiveness, leveraging analytics, stakeholder feedback and community insights to refine messaging and improve engagement outcomes.
Upholds corporate brand by maintaining consistency in tone, voice, and visual identity across all stakeholder-facing communications.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience A minimum of eight years of corporate communications or public relations is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Communications experience in the energy or manufacturing industries is preferred.
Education Level A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or public relations is required.
Required Skills Strong written communication skills and demonstrated strategic thinking are essential. Experience collaborating with executives, business partners and stakeholders is required. The ideal candidate is proactive, motivated and focused on results. Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail are expected. Proficiency in AP Style and familiarity with collaboration and communication tools such as SharePoint is considered an asset for this position.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility No direct supervision of employees; may oversee contract or temporary employees.
Work Conditions Office-based/hybrid. Some travel may be required.
