Description The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement (AAE) focuses on constituent engagement, donor research, solicitation and stewardship across Emory University and Health Systems. Our mission is to inspire and steward meaningful, lasting relationships that elevate engagement and giving to fulfill Emory’s mission to serve humanity. AAE is a high‑performance team built on innovative ideas, trust, and accountability.

The Content and Creative Strategy team includes writers, designers, strategists, creators, and content marketers who engage and persuade donors to invest in Emory’s work. This position reports to the Director of Graphic Design.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in strategic planning, design, and production of advancement communications materials in Advancement and Alumni Engagement.

Develop and design content for fundraising proposals, strategic communications to donors and alumni, publications, web content, and other collateral.

Execute design strategies through data‑driven decision making to create targeted marketing materials and campaigns.

Use software to create and manipulate photographs and images.

Make recommendations to enhance and create visual components consistent with the overall division communications strategy.

Research audience, trends, and best practices, staying abreast of the latest technology and design styles.

Work with outside vendors as needed.

Recommend needed software, hardware, and other resources.

Partner with other designers, writers, production coordinators, printers, and photographers to achieve project goals.

Perform related responsibilities as required.

Commit to an in‑person presence two days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in graphic design or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong design skills with experience in offset and digital printing and electronic communications.

Visualization skills, able to design for complex ideas in an impactful creative manner.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while being highly detail‑oriented and navigating a complex work environment.

Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, working independently and collaboratively, and comfortable working with ambiguity.

High level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.

Advanced knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, web reporting/analysis, and CRM systems.

Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non‑profit, or a university setting.

Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

NOTE This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. The role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to the employee.
