In this role, you will play a key role in helping us highlight the latest research in biblical studies and biblical languages for our unique audience of scholars and professors. You’ll also provide strategic support as you work with the editorial and sales teams in providing input during our prepublication process as well as promoting and overseeing the marketing plans for our books. As marketing manager, you will help us define key products and go-to-market plans, all of which play an important role in shaping Hendrickson’s marketing direction. You’ll also help us develop relationships with authors to ensure a positive experience publishing with Hendrickson. What You'll Do

Support Hendrickson Publishers in developing and executing new product paid digital media marketing efforts and providing sales support functions. Actively market new products and highlight key backlist products; assist Tyndale House Publishing (THP) sales team with assets for Amazon ads, as well as manage annual academic conferences, with product knowledge assistance and support from the Hendrickson acquisition team. This role involves considerable go-to-market activity coordination. Stimulate customer awareness and demand for new Hendrickson titles and other resources through digital marketing channels for end-user consumer and trade levels. Identify cross-promotion synergies among product categories. Create ways to promote select academic authors with significant marketplace awareness (highly recognized lecturers who are in demand). Collaborate with publishing director to develop marketing priorities for backlist and frontlist products; develop an annual book promotional plan. Manage and execute creative asset development for a wide range of social media outlets (including Facebook and IG organic posts) and conference marketing materials (e.g., flyers, online advertising, social media, emails, organic in-house videos, websites, etc.). Regularly report engagement metrics to publishing director. Collaborate with THP departments and vendors; meet project budgets and deadlines. Plan, design, and print sales communication tools to promote products to help editorial/acquisitions (e.g., a feature sheet and an annual catalog) and to equip annual academic conferences (booth procedure sheets, pricing cards, etc.). In coordination with sales team, manage academic conference booths and other approved conferences. Be the liaison between the Hendrickson team and the academic newsletter sent out via THP sales. Provide information and content in collaboration with sales and publishing director. Report email performance metrics regularly to publishing director. Manage the Hendrickson marketing budget for academic conferences and sales support material as well as social media advertising for new and evergreen titles and occasional author relation activities. Coordinate activities with THP’s academic sales representative (e.g., conference book ordering and sale pricing, Edelweiss catalogs). Create New Product Presentation support material. Collaborate with THP’s public relations team if needed for high-profile projects to identify podcast opportunities for authors. Organize Amazon advertising placement and promotion for new and key titles with Amazon sales team; design and provide functional Amazon art assets for A+ pages per THP’s specifications. Manage the coordination and submission of books for academic journal review. Establish and maintain a review database. Other administrative duties as directed that support sales and editorial/acquisitions. Abilities

Ability to plan, manage, and run a conference booth, including merchandising and in-booth sales transactions. Solid English-language skills including written and verbal communication. Ability to learn academic products (including those with technical details), identify target market appeals, and create persuasive messaging. Proven creative and astute problem-solving abilities and can-do attitude. At conferences, ability to perform light physical work such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and lifting items weighing up to 30–35 pounds. Self-motivated and independent worker; able to take initiative. Available to travel occasionally. Skills and Qualifications Needed

At least three to five years of experience in marketing. Publishing industry experience is a plus. B. A., preferably in Business, Communications, Biblical Studies, or related field. Strong level of professionalism with organizational and sales skills. Practical experience using email and social media as marketing platforms (Meta paid platform experience). Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products and databases. Solid understanding of graphic design principles and ability to use the Canva platform for advertising design. Personal alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith. After an initial training period, this role is open to a hybrid work schedule, which means you'll be given the flexibility to split time between working from home and in the office.
