Job Description The Voice & Data Communications Specialist will support mission‑critical personnel at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM).

Responsibilities include providing voice and data communications support for DEVCOM and its tenants, ensuring reliable connectivity across classified and unclassified networks, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain mission‑critical communication infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems, including VoIP, radio, satellite, and secure voice networks.

Diagnose and resolve technical issues, providing Tier I/II support to minimize service interruptions.

Manage and troubleshoot services such as dial tone, DSN, ISDN, VoIP, voicemail, conference bridging, and long‑haul circuits.

Support the government emergency telecommunications service (GETS) and other secure communication requirements.

Continuously monitor systems, identify potential problems, and use diagnostic tools to analyze and resolve hardware and software issues.

Maintain accurate records of system configurations, equipment inventory, network diagrams, and work performed.

Provide technical assistance and training to end‑users.

Schedule and oversee the installation, configuration, and repair of telephone systems and related hardware.

Enforce organizational policies related to telecommunications usage, including security standards and data protection, and support audits or reviews as needed.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Two (2+) years of voice/data systems experience.

Familiarity with managing, configuring, and troubleshooting telephone systems, including VoIP, PBX, and analog systems.

Ability to maintain accurate inventories of telephone equipment, track service requests, and manage user accounts and access permissions.

Understanding of network infrastructure related to telephony, including IP addressing, cabling, and connectivity between devices and systems.

Preferred

Active Secret Clearance.

BA/BS in computer science or information technology.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Salary Range $55,000 – $70,000
