Director of Sales and Marketing
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for driving the long‑term profitable growth of Innovation Yarns. This role leads all commercial activities by understanding target markets and customers, shaping product direction through customer insights, promoting Innovation Yarns’ capabilities, developing new business opportunities, and leading high‑performing Sales and Marketing teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sales plans based on market and customer intelligence.
Own the customer relationship lifecycle—establish, maintain, and grow relationships through transparent communication and a commitment to mutually beneficial outcomes.
Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities aligned with company goals.
Establish and maintain accurate pricing structures and sales forecasts using market trends, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
Partner with the Product Design team to translate customer and market needs into product requirements, ensuring Innovation Yarns’ offerings exceed competitive benchmarks and reflect the Voice of the Customer.
Lead and coordinate the Marketing team, overseeing creation of promotional materials, targeted campaigns, industry/customer events, and trade show participation.
Develop, manage, and report on the annual sales and marketing budget in support of corporate objectives.
Provide regular reports to Leadership, including sales results, forecasts, budget performance, and periodic re‑forecasting.
Build and lead a world‑class commercial team by mentoring and coaching sales associates, supporting their professional development, and driving a culture of accountability and performance.
Lead and manage external Sales Representatives, including hiring, performance oversight, and compensation.
Champion and model Innovation Yarns’ mission, vision, values, and ethical standards across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration required.
10+ years of experience in a fiber or related industrial sales environment, including at least 5 years in a progressive sales leadership role.
Exceptional communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and CRM platforms.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and motivate cross‑functional teams.
Proven experience presenting to and partnering with executive leadership.
Ability to travel up to 50% to customer sites and industry events.
