Position Overview
The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University is a growing practice. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time clinical Neuro Ophthalmologist position. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Neuro Ophthalmology.
Department/Division Overview The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Neuro Ophthalmologist to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. The academic rank and track will be commensurate with the applicant’s record and experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform the full range of responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.
Provide clinical services, including patient care, with or without trainees.
Pursue research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and education initiatives in consultation with the Department Chair.
Teach clinical or didactic clinical material to medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post‑doctoral fellows.
Commit to service at OSUWMC facilities and other assigned clinical sites.
Engage in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions, and participate in professional organizations.
Requirements
Hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
Completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology and a fellowship in Neuro‑Ophthalmology or Neurology, with additional training in Neuro‑Ophthalmology.
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Ophthalmology.
Eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
U.S. citizenship required for participation in this role due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Neuro Ophthalmology.
Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery with evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications.
Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students.
