Sony Music is seeking a Vice President of Product Design to lead the design vision, strategy, and execution for our global suite of artist, label, and internal tooling products within Product, Design, Engineering and Global Operations (our PDEGO team). This leader will guide a distributed team of designers, partner with Product and Engineering leadership, and shape intuitive, data‑driven experiences that support our global business.

What you’ll do:

Elevate product design as a critical driver of solution quality , embedding design excellence into every stage of the product development lifecycle and measurably improving user outcomes.

Develop, mentor, and empower designers at all levels , from sharpening the craft of senior ICs to creating growth pathways and clear guardrails for junior designers; foster a confident, cohesive design culture deeply integrated into PDEGO’s operating rhythm.

Build and operationalize a robust user engagement and insights program , giving designers and product teams structured access to user feedback; navigate stakeholder nuance, establish repeatable research practices, and champion user voice as a strategic input to roadmaps and long‑term bets.

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and cross‑functional leadership to inform roadmaps, drive clarity, and reinforce a collaborative, solutions‑oriented culture

where teams practice healthy dialogue, shared ownership, and compromise to deliver the strongest outcomes.

Lead and manage a high‑performing global product design team ; set the design vision and drive a culture of excellence, curiosity, and user empathy.

Own the end‑to‑end design strategy for a complex ecosystem of internal music distribution

and B2B software products in accounting tools, data products, and artist/label experience tools.

Establish best‑in‑class scalable design practices and elevate design systems and standards

that ensure consistency and quality across all PDEGO software products.

Provide strategic design guidance , feedback, and direction across multiple product areas and global markets.

Represent design thinking at the leadership level , bringing a user‑centered perspective to decision‑making.

Who you are:

We are seeking a leader with 12‑15+ years of B2B software product design/UX experience with 5+ years leading design teams at a senior level.

Proven experience designing complex, data‑heavy, enterprise or workflow tools at scale.

Strong systems thinker with deep experience in information architecture and interaction design.

Skilled at leading multidisciplinary, globally distributed teams.

Excellent communicator with a track record of influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive alignment.

Highly collaborative, user‑obsessed, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex problem spaces.

$224,483 - $252,229 USD
