The Head of Retail Marketing is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive store traffic, increase brand awareness, and support revenue growth across all retail and digital channels. This role bridges brand, digital, retail, and promotional marketing to ensure a consistent, compliant, and high‑quality customer experience across stores and online platforms. The Head of Retail Marketing partners closely with Retail Operations, Product, CRM, Creative, and Revenue teams to deliver marketing programs that support company growth objectives.
*You must have experience in cannabis, retail, grocery, tobacco, alcohol, fast food, or other fast‑moving consumer sectors*
*You must understand the Michigan retail/cannabis market*
Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and manage the annual marketing calendar across campaigns, promotions, and product launches
Align marketing strategies with company objectives, seasonal priorities, and market opportunities
Partner with the Revenue Officer and CRM teams to ensure campaigns are data‑driven and performance‑tracked
Retail Marketing
Build and deliver in‑store activations, promotional programs, and signage kits to elevate the customer experience
Support store openings and local events through geo‑targeted campaigns and community partnerships
Ensure all marketing materials meet state cannabis advertising and compliance requirements
Digital & Loyalty Marketing
Collaborate with CRM/Loyalty teams across email, SMS, app, and social campaigns
Maintain digital campaign calendars and ensure consistency between online and in‑store messaging
Partner with creative and digital teams to produce brand‑aligned, compliant content
Brand Stewardship
Maintain brand consistency across retail, packaging, digital, and experiential touchpoints
Manage creative briefs and coordinate with design, copy, and production teams
Support product storytelling and education for new launches
Analytics & Performance
Track and report KPIs including store traffic, promo performance, customer acquisition, and conversion metrics
Evaluate channel‑level ROI and make recommendations for budget allocation and optimization
Monitor competitor activity and broader market trends to identify new growth opportunities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
5+ years of marketing experience in retail, CPG, and/or cannabis industries
Demonstrated experience managing campaign calendars, budgets, and cross‑functional execution
Strong organizational and project management skills
Experience with CRM/loyalty platforms such as Springbig, Alpine IQ, or Dutchie
Understanding of cannabis marketing compliance and state advertising regulations
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
Schedule / Pay
Hybrid, fulltime availability but must be based near Troy, MI.
Starting Salary $130-150k based on experience

Monthly footfall vs. baseline
Customer repeat purchase rate
