IMEG is seeking a
Commissioning Project Authority
to join our Commissioning team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will manage and support a variety of building commissioning (Cx) projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for moderate to complex facilities. You’ll leverage your expertise in HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems to ensure high-performance, code-compliant buildings, utilizing tools such as Cx Alloy and MS Office Suite. Principal Responsibilities
Manage and/or support multiple commissioning projects, including client interface, team coordination, and schedule/budget management
Assist with completion of construction and renovation commissioning projects
Perform commissioning reviews of construction documents and equipment submittals
Develop commissioning plans, reports, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures
Conduct functional testing of systems and assist with field testing
Perform technical analysis of building operations (controls, sequences, etc.)
Proactively communicate with a wide range of client stakeholders
Perform jobsite field observations, write detailed field reports, and lead commissioning meetings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
Mentor and develop less-experienced employees in a team-based atmosphere
Contribute to improving commissioning processes and best practices
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
• 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) consulting industry, or equivalent
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
OR
• Recognized Building Commissioning Certification preferred (or ability and desire to obtain one)
• 9 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) design consulting industry, or equivalent
• Strong oral and written skills and a proven ability to interact professionally with a wide a range of clients
• Solid understanding of HVAC and electrical system designs and operations
• Working knowledge of building automation and lighting control systems
• Working knowledge of Cx Industry Standards (ASHRAE, ACG, BCxA) and code requirements
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CEC Title 24, ASHRAE, IECC, IMC, NEC, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction documents (mechanical, controls, plumbing, and electrical drawings, specifications, etc.)
• Proficient understanding of electrical and fire/life safety systems
• Knowledge of construction industry safety practices and procedures
• Troubleshooting of field devices and control hardware and software
• Capable of self-performing functional testing of building MEP systems
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Skilled with PDF editors (Bluebeam, Adobe), plus additional online project management software
• Ability to travel up to 30% (travel will depend on project needs and may vary widely)

State of California Salary Range: $92,000.00 - $123,000.00
Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
