Marketing & Digital Media Coordinator

The Smoke Shop BBQ . This role executes that vision through marketing and digital media, driving sales, community connections, and consumer engagement. The position is creatively led by Chef/Owner Andy Husbands and reports directly to Andy Husbands and Bill Goodwin, Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities

Produce and execute a focused, comprehensive Content Calendar that includes social media, web, printed collateral and event support.

Implement marketing and advertising campaigns directed by the owner.

Coordinate communications with key marketing partners including graphic design, PR, Boston media and third‑party event managers.

Provide regular updates to the Executive Team and general managers on marketing initiatives and logistics needed at individual restaurant levels.

Work with culinary, operations, beverage, and events teams on brand programming to promote to the public.

Collect and present key analytics of each marketing initiative to identify growth opportunities.

Use analytics to increase engagement across social media and email marketing.

Attend Smoke Shop events—internal, external, and strategic—to represent marketing efforts across the company.

Email Marketing

Maintain the consumer email database and build lists from guest data sources.

Produce content strategy and schedule for email marketing.

Design, write, and disseminate e‑newsletters with photography and copy.

Review e‑newsletter analytics and identify growth areas.

Social Media Marketing

Create all social media posts per the Content Calendar, marketing goals, and restaurant activity.

Produce all social media posts.

Respond to all comments and engagement.

Interact with like‑minded brands, friends, and followers.

Conceptualize creative promotional ideas supporting major sales initiatives.

Collect ideas and imagery from team members for campaigns.

Update restaurants’ Google Business and Yelp accounts with new events, hours, promotions, and catering menus.

Handle incoming guest inquiries via all social media channels, Tidio live chat, website contact forms, and info@thesmokeshopbbq.com.

Field all incoming donation inquiries.

Digital Marketing

Execute the digital marketing strategy, including advertising and sponsored posts on platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, and Instagram.

Events

Work with the Catering & Events Manager, owner, and Director of Operations to determine marketing needs for new and recurring in‑house events.

Support all processes around ticket sales, promotion, setup, and execution of in‑house events.

Design and print promotional materials and guest items for events—posters, flyers, menus, social graphics, recipe packets.

Survey past event guests to gain insights and develop ideas for future events.

Incorporate Smoke Shop Catering into Marketing & Digital Media vision and strategy.

Work directly with the Catering & Events Manager on in‑restaurant promotion and marketing efforts.

Act as a supporting team member during high‑volume periods such as Thanksgiving and other key dates.

Produce in‑restaurant collateral related to menu, events, and brand elements—signage, postcards, merchandise.

Website

Work directly with the website designer on updates and new concepts.

Make updates to the website as needed—menus, events, merchandise, promotions.

Manage the brand’s online store, including:

Adding new products, events, and classes, and drafting descriptions.

Taking product photos.

Conceptualizing new product ideas/gift packages.

Assembling, packaging, and shipping all online orders to guests.

Administrative

Provide key additional support to the owner, including calendar management and programming/tracking of projects.

Menus

Make necessary design updates to all restaurant menus, including in‑house, allergy, kids’, take‑out, catering, website, and third‑party delivery menus.

Overall, we expect you to be a team leader, brand champion, and tactician who is nimble, communicative, and supportive of business growth.

Schedule: Full‑time; in‑restaurant time required and travel between Smoke Shop locations. Nights and weekends needed for occasional events or appearances.

Necessary Skills:

Adobe InDesign, Photography, Canva, Excel, and working knowledge of restaurant operations and logistics.

Base Pay:

$65 K–$75 K per year
