As the Head of Communications for Italy, you will play a pivotal, hands‑on role in shaping and executing Meta's communications strategy across the country. You will lead both proactive and reactive communications for the Meta family of apps, collaborating with local and global teams to manage media relations, social‑first campaigns, and policy‑related press issues. In the role, you'll directly influence Meta's reputation and brand presence in Italy.

Minimum Qualifications

Professional fluency in both English and Italian, including advanced verbal and written communication skills in both languages

12+ years of experience in external communications, corporate issues, and project management

Demonstrated success in executing media campaigns, crisis management, and building relationships with media and executives

Experience managing agencies and contractors, with a focus on scalable processes and measurable results

Proven existing relationships with Italian media

Team player with proven experience of project management and decision‑making skills

Experience working with, influencing, and presenting to executive‑level stakeholders (VP & C‑level)

Proven ability to collaborate, influence others, and lead complex cross‑team projects

Preferred Qualifications

Both agency and in‑house experience

Responsibilities

Shape and lead Meta's communications strategy in Italy, setting clear priorities, defining success metrics, and ensuring measurable impact

Drive proactive and reactive communications, providing strategic counsel and rapid response to complex issues and crises

Develop and execute high‑impact campaigns to address brand reputation and key country priorities, while managing policy‑related press issues in partnership with EMEA Policy Comms and Public Policy teams

Identify and pitch positive stories to secure ongoing, proactive media coverage for Meta and its products by collaborating cross‑functionally with local and global teams

Develop and implement social‑first strategies across Meta's channels, partnering with creators to maximize impact

Support and advise business leaders, preparing briefing materials and managing executive spokespeople for media engagements

Manage external agencies to ensure effective and aligned execution of communications strategies
