Your Role And Responsibilities
As an entry-level Product Marketing Manager for IBM’s ITFM and Cloud Financial Management portfolio, you will help define how IBM brings cost optimization and financial governance capabilities to market. You’ll partner closely with product teams, TBM and FinOps experts, sales and enablement to craft messaging that demonstrates how IBM empowers organizations to understand, control, and optimize their IT and cloud spend. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who want to combine an interest in technology, finance, and storytelling to support a rapidly growing, high-impact market segment. What You’ll Do – Product Positioning & Messaging
Develop and refine messaging that communicates the value of IBM’s ITFM and CFM solutions, including cost transparency, budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and cloud cost optimization. Translate financial management concepts and technical capabilities into compelling, business-focused narratives for IT, finance, and FinOps audiences. Support GTM plans for product releases and roadmap updates across the FinOps and IT spend optimization portfolios. Collaborate with product management, sales, and digital marketing to deliver launch assets, competitive guidance, and customer-ready content. Conduct research on FinOps trends, cloud cost management tools, IT budgeting processes, and competitor offerings. Assist in synthesizing analyst reports, customer interviews, and usage data to inform positioning and identify whitespace opportunities. Sales & Partner Enablement
Develop sales tools such as pitch decks, value calculators, product one-pagers, competitive battlecards, and objection-handling guides. Participate in internal enablement sessions to help sellers and partners articulate IBM’s value in the ITFM and CFM markets. Content Development
Create content that demonstrates thought leadership in FinOps and IT cost optimization, including blog articles, customer stories, web content, and event messaging. Support webinar scripts, demos, and conference content that showcases IBM’s expertise in cloud cost governance. Who You Are
A strong communicator who can simplify complex technical and financial concepts. Curious about FinOps, cloud economics, IT budgeting, and how enterprises manage technology investments. Comfortable working cross-functionally and contributing to multiple initiatives simultaneously. Eager to learn about hybrid cloud, automation, and financial management tooling. Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Foundational understanding of marketing principles. Interest in cloud computing, enterprise IT, financial operations, or cost optimization. Ability to conduct basic competitive and market analysis. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
Exposure to FinOps concepts, IT cost management, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud, etc.). Experience (internship or academic) in B2B technology, SaaS, financial analysis, or product marketing. Ability to analyze spend data or dashboards using Excel, Google Sheets, or analytics tools. Familiarity with project management or GTM content development tools (e.g., Monday, Confluence, Asana). Seniority Level
