Lead Content Specialist
Position Description:
As a lead content specialist (in Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources) you will create and manage engaging content that populates a variety of digital and traditional platforms at Texas Tech University, including websites, blogs, printed material, advertisements, social media and more. You will work closely with the Office of Communications and Marketing and other department stakeholders to create and maintain content that adheres to brand standards and effectively engages target audiences.

Major/Essential Functions:
Work closely with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications to execute high-impact projects that align with the college’s marketing and branding strategies.
Lead the creation of visually and strategically compelling content for the college’s digital and print communications, including websites, social media, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials.
Ensure brand consistency and quality across all college communications; establish and maintain creative standards and guidelines.
Manage multiple projects concurrently, determining project priorities, timelines, and resource allocation.
Work closely with the Communications Leadership Team to develop and implement a content strategy that supports the college's seven departments.
Collaborate with leadership teams across departments to develop long-term content strategies that support institutional goals and fundraising initiatives.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in conceptualizing creative strategies and managing content workflows.
Stay informed of emerging marketing trends and technologies; recommend and implement innovative strategies to enhance engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in marketing, design, or communications
Ability to mentor student interns and fellow team members
Familiarity with content management systems and digital marketing tools
Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and grammar
Ability to communicate effectively with both external and internal audiences
Understanding of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other graphic design tools
