Review architectural drawings and develop efficient, cost-conscious structural layouts that support value engineering efforts. Update structural plans to reflect field conditions, site changes, client requests, or revised project requirements. Assist with schematic designs, preliminary framing concepts, and proposal exhibits when needed. Ensure all plans adhere to relevant building codes, including IRC/IBC, City of Houston standards, and geotechnical recommendations. Requirements 1–2+ years of experience in structural design (residential experience strongly preferred). Strong understanding of wood-framed construction, floor systems, roof framing, and residential foundation methods. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and convert them into structural plans. Knowledge of local code requirements and design best practices. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD. Familiarity with structural design software used in analysis and modeling. Experience with tools such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam. Civil engineering background is strongly preferred. Full-time, 100% remote position.
