Candidate Location

Senior Specification Writer Responsibilities
- Interfaces with appropriate individuals to be kept appraised of any new projects and/or client activity that would have an impact on Specifications and Technical support.
- Maintains frequent communication with appropriate individuals to ensure proper information flows.
- Responsible for Specifications and Technical employees operating in an ethical manner to maintain high performance standards.
- Monitors the assembly of the project product book for assigned projects.
- Attends regular team meetings on assigned projects to keep apprised of design and documentation progress.
- Responsible for assembling and publishing of Project Manual for assigned projects.
- Performs technical research on products to be included in the written specification.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances, regulations, statutory and documentation requirements for specifications.
- Creates bidding packages on project materials.
- Updates the product catalogues.
- Reviews all construction drawings and specifications so that they complement each other and will work effectively together.
- Creates revision documents for project-related changes to specifications and drawings.
- Updates knowledge of construction products/materials on the market to understand the impact on the budget for the project.
- Maintains frequent communication with appropriate individuals to ensure proper information flows.
- Assume special projects and duties as assigned or requested.
- Supports new business development areas providing Specification support as appropriate.
- Assist and advise in review, analysis, and selection of products and systems.
- Serve as a resource for JCJ in the evaluation, and selection of appropriate products and systems to meet project requirements.
- Provide guidance on the correct application and installation of selected products.
- Updates the Specifications Writing Manual and product catalogues.
- Assist in the maintenance of the technical library.
- Coordinate education sessions for JCJ on the incorporation and use of new products and systems.
- Assume special projects and duties as assigned or requested.

Education
Bachelor of Architecture
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Licensed Architect, or CSI Certification. Certification as a Construction Specifier preferred.
Training Requirements (licenses, Programs, Or Certificates)
Licensed Architect, or CSI Certification. Certification as a Construction Specifier preferred.
Experience – Senior Specification Writer
- 7+ years experience in Architecture
- 5+ years of specifications writing
- 5+ years experience in a professional services environment
