Job Summary

WTVG-TV seeks a dynamic storyteller who can gather and present factual information to viewers both on‑air and digitally. The Multimedia Journalist will use investigative, writing, video‑editing, and on‑camera skills to create compelling content.

Responsibilities

• Generate, gather, and provide news and information in the most accurate, appealing, timely, and creative way.
• Use writing skills for on‑air and online platforms.
• Write and post digital‑original stories prior to the television version.
• Demonstrate sound news judgment and tell stories with pictures and natural sound.
• Utilize non‑linear editing equipment daily.
• Develop and maintain reliable sources.
• Participate in the story‑selection process and attend editorial meetings.
• Attend, host, and speak at community events to meet viewers.
• Perform various shift work, including holiday work.
• Accept critique, feedback, and training as part of the job.
• Follow clothing and appearance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Write clearly, accurately, and in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
• Possess excellent interview and conversational writing skills.
• Have strong live reporting and on‑camera presentation skills.
• Be a compelling storyteller.
• Be able to shoot and edit video; create personalized stories.
• Produce and post original content to the station’s websites.
• Play an active role in the editorial process.
• Utilize social media outlets to engage viewers.
• Work well under pressure with limited supervision.
• Show strong initiative and attention to detail.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by collaborating well with co‑workers, supervisors, and viewers.
