Job Description
The Marshall Public School District is seeking a detail-oriented, student-focused Library Paraprofessional to support the daily operations of our school library and help foster a love of reading in all students. This positition will require the selected candidate will share their time between Spainhower Elementary and Marshall Intermediate Schools.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting students and staff in locating and using library resources
Checking materials in and out, shelving books, and maintaining an organized collection
Supporting teachers with instructional materials and literacy activities
Monitoring student use of the library and promoting a positive learning environment
Assisting with inventory, displays, book fairs, and other library programs
Performing routine clerical duties to support the library's operations
The ideal candidate will:
Be organized, dependable, and comfortable working with students of all ages
Have strong communication and service skills
Enjoy working in a literacy-rich environment
Be willing to learn library systems and procedures
Be patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students succeed
Be able to obtain a substitute teaching certificate within a specified timeframe
