We are currently looking for a Content Strategist for our Houston, TX office.

About the Role

Boardwalk is seeking a strategic, people‑focused communicator to join our Corporate Communications team as a Content Strategist. In this role you will help advance the company’s business strategy by creating clear, consistent, and engaging communications that enhance visibility, foster alignment, and strengthen the company’s reputation. You will translate complex information into accessible, compelling narratives that reflect the company’s vision, mission, and values, and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.

About The Communications Team

The Communications Department leads the company’s reputation, brand, and communications strategy. The team’s purpose is to advance Boardwalk’s business strategy by enhancing visibility, fostering alignment across the organization, and shaping a clear, consistent narrative that resonates with all key audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in developing and executing a unified content strategy that supports company priorities and reinforces a consistent corporate voice.
  • Collaborate with internal and external channel leads to craft messages tailored to internal and external audiences, including newsletters, website, campaigns, and leadership communications.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and oversee content development across all corporate channels and ensure all content reflects Boardwalk’s brand standards, visual identity, and tone of voice.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to concept and deliver campaigns that elevate Boardwalk’s reputation and employee engagement.
  • Support production of the annual Sustainability Report, executive speeches, newsletters, and other high‑impact publications.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and feedback to continuously improve clarity, reach, and effectiveness of communications.
  • Maintain awareness of energy industry trends and emerging communication best practices to ensure messaging remains relevant and forward‑looking.

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, content strategy, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into relatable, meaningful narratives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner across business units and with executive leadership.
  • Ability to interpret engagement data and apply insights to strengthen messaging and audience impact.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how communications support strategic goals and organizational performance.
  • Proficiency with modern communication tools and emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted research, content management, and analytics platforms.

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
