Base pay range
$105,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
HistoSonics is a medical device company, founded in 2009, that has developed a non-invasive, sonic beam therapy platform that uses histotripsy, which is capable of destroying targeted liver tumors. Location: Plymouth, MN (Hybrid)
Travel Expectation: Occasional visits to other Midwest sites, based on business needs.
Note: We are open to considering candidates at either the Engineer or Senior Engineer level based on experience and qualifications. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and level (Engineer or Senior).
Position Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong WPF/C# expertise to develop UX/UI features and functional prototypes for our Windows-based applications. This highly collaborative role works closely with graphic designers, the Clinical Education team, the program team, and technical communication specialists to fine-tune user experiences and ensure solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine UX/UI features using WPF/C# and build functional prototypes for Windows applications.
- Present design concepts, technical approaches, and application workflows to various stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, contributing to maintainable, high-quality software.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during internal and external audits.
- Gather and evaluate requirements in collaboration with the research team and product managers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and iterate on prototypes.
- Support initiatives and projects outside primary responsibilities as needed.
- Create and maintain clear design specifications and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all assigned tasks meet Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality System and software development processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient in WPF/C# programming for Windows application design.
- Experience working with multiple operating systems, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Windows.
- Experience with source-code control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
- Preferred experience in software development for medical devices.
- Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations and ISO standards is a plus.
- Experience programming hardware interfaces through serial or network communication is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to learn quickly while maintaining strong interdisciplinary relationships.
