After-School Musical Theatre Director
for
Lion King KIDS !
We partner with local elementary schools to bring high-quality, joyful performing arts experiences right to their campus. You'll lead a group of young performers two days a week right after school, guiding them through singing, acting, movement, and teamwork as they rehearse and perform their very own musical.
We provide the scripts, tracks, support, and curriculum — you bring the magic!
This is a super fun, rewarding, and creative role for someone who loves kids and theatre and wants to make a real impact in the community.
Responsibilities
Direct an after-school production of Lion King KIDS with elementary students.
Lead rehearsals 2 days per week immediately after school (typically 90 minutes).
Teach basic acting, singing, and movement in a positive and energetic way.
Build confidence, teamwork, and creativity in young performers.
Coordinate the final performance for families and the school community.
Communicate with school partners and Ziegfeld Academy as needed.
Keep rehearsals structured, safe, and FUN.
Represent Ziegfeld Arts Academy with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Qualifications
Experience in musical theatre, education, performing arts, or youth programs.
Comfortable leading groups of children with positivity and firm-but-kind classroom management.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Creative, upbeat, and excited about inspiring young performers!
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Background check will be required by Ziegfeld Arts and the school district.
Bonus points if you have:
Experience directing youth theatre
Dance/movement or vocal training
A passion for Disney musicians or KIDS-series shows
Additional Information
Contract Pay:
$1,000–$1,500
depending on experience and program scope.
All materials provided (scripts, tracks, rehearsal plans, supplies).
You’ll receive support and training from Ziegfeld Arts Academy.
Program runs 8–12 weeks depending on the school.
This is a great fit for teaching artists, actors, choreographers, theatre students, and educators who love kids and creativity.
Help kids discover their voice, their confidence, and their inner Simba.
