Piping Senior Designer
position in
Greenville, SC .

Mandatory Experience Requirement – Read Before Applying
Must have an accredited associate degree in a related technical field and a minimum of 10 years of piping design work experience; experience on EPC industrial projects is required.
Proficiency in MicroStation and 3D modeling using Intergraph Smart3D (S3D) with at least 3 years of S3D experience.
Demonstrated experience producing and checking complex piping drawings including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches.
Applicants lacking piping drafting/design experience, 3D modeling competency, or the ability to interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, and multi‑discipline engineering documents will not be considered.
Impact As a Piping Senior Designer, you will play a critical role in developing 2D and 3D piping designs that support major engineering and construction projects, including nuclear and large industrial work. Your designs directly impact constructability, safety, procurement accuracy, and schedule performance. You will collaborate with engineering, suppliers, construction teams, and project management to ensure that high‑quality piping deliverables are issued on time and in accordance with project standards.
Responsibilities And Duties Design & Drafting Execution
Prepare and check piping designs of intermediate complexity using 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools.
Produce and check complex piping drawings (plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, sketches).
Execute work in compliance with the Project Quality Plan, project scope, cost, and schedule baselines.
Perform bulk material take‑offs and tabulations.
Technical Coordination & Support
Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients.
Provide technical support during procurement, including vendor submittal review.
Support construction through RFI responses and field change evaluations.
Provide assistance to construction and pipe fabrication personnel.
Piping Discipline Requirements
Read, interpret, and generate design drawings with minimal engineering input.
Prepare 3D layouts and schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity.
Perform 3D piping layout and equipment modeling.
Tools & Standards
Use Bentley MicroStation for 2D design and Intergraph Smart3D (S3D) for 3D modeling.
Maintain compliance with DOE Orders, federal, state, and local engineering codes and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Associate degree in a related technical field.
Minimum 10 years of piping design/drafting experience.
Experience working on industrial EPC projects.
Proficiency in MicroStation and Smart3D, plus standard software (Word, email, spreadsheets).
Strong ability to communicate and coordinate with engineering, construction, and vendors.
Desired Skills
Experience designing piping systems for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1.
Knowledge of piping components, commercial availability, and material cost.
Practical field experience.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, and discipline interfaces.
Education And Experience Requirements
Accredited associate degree or equivalent design experience.
Minimum 10 years of piping drafting/design with proficiency in MicroStation and Smart3D.
