Position Summary / Description The Marketing and Communications Program Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the Friday Center's mission by leading its marketing and communications efforts. Reporting to the Director of the William & Ida Friday Center, this position balances strategic oversight with hands‑on execution to implement and evaluate initiatives that elevate the Friday Center's visibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Developing and executing marketing strategies to support the Friday Conference Center and Community and Continuing Education programs.

Creating and managing digital content, including website updates, social media campaigns, and email marketing.

Overseeing brand management to ensure consistency across all communication channels.

Conducting market research and analyzing campaign performance to inform data‑driven decision‑making.

Writing and editing content for newsletters, press releases, promotional materials, and leadership communications.

This role requires a combination of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to align marketing efforts with organizational goals and to engage a diverse range of audiences effectively.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Education and Experience

Familiarity with digital marketing tools and practices, including Google Ads, social media, email marketing, and SEO.

Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite tools (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign) or similar design software.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track and evaluate campaign performance to inform marketing strategies.

Experience managing third‑party vendor relationships and partnerships.

Understanding of lead generation strategies and achieving measurable marketing results.

Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating marketing campaigns.

Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, audience‑focused messaging.

Proven track record of developing and executing marketing strategies and tactical implementation.

Strong project management skills, including follow‑through, time management, and the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
