Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Senior Engineer A position at the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) in Aiken, SC.
Work Schedule:
5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s (40-hour workweek, excluding SRNS holidays)
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE “Q” clearance required
Mandatory Experience Requirement – Read Before Applying
Prior design experience within the last 10 years in the nuclear or chemical process industry is required
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of DOE, federal/state regulations, and site-specific engineering and quality assurance standards

As a Design Authority Engineer, you will lead and support high-impact projects, ensuring technical rigor, safety compliance, and innovative problem-solving to advance national security and nuclear operations.
Responsibilities And Duties
Serve as Primary Design Authority (DA) for mechanical equipment and lead DA for limited area development; backup DA for configuration management and preventive maintenance
Develop plans, technical requirements, and documentation for CD-3A, CD-3C, and CD-2/3 scopes
Provide technical input and review for design removal, coatings removal, HVAC, and concrete removal
Lead technical proposal reviews, support inspection and testing plans, and aid in CD-3X package development
Host or support facility walkdowns (e.g., Building 226-F)
Communicate findings through reports, technical papers, and presentations
Collaborate across divisions to solve complex engineering problems
Ensure compliance with technical, scheduling, staffing, and budgetary objectives
Mentor junior engineers and guide technical execution
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or science discipline with 2+ years’ experience, OR
M.S. with 5+ years’ experience, OR
B.S. with 7+ years’ experience
Skills/Experience:
Mastery in assigned technical field with recognized expertise
Proven ability to define technical programs, lead problem-solving, and coordinate across departments
Must be capable of interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and documents
Strong understanding of radiological controls, configuration management, quality assurance, and operations-related areas
Desired Skills
Active or recent (within 2 years) DOE Q or L clearance
Previous experience at DOE facilities or SRS
Familiarity with DOE Order 413.3B, work control processes, and nuclear safety regulations
Education And Experience Requirements

Additional certifications or site-specific training preferred but not required
