Provide technical leadership and direction in the Building Enclosures consulting and design practice.
Establish and maintain standardized technical procedures, specifications, and QA/QC protocols consistent with ECS's mission of quality, responsiveness, and profitability.
Review project approaches and deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Serve as the technical authority and senior reviewer for complex or high‑risk assignments, including litigation support, peer reviews, and building performance investigations.
Support project teams in addressing technical challenges during design, testing, and construction phases.
Lead the development and dissemination of best practices through internal training, mentoring, and technical seminars.
Evaluate and introduce new materials, systems, and technologies that enhance ECS's capabilities in building science and sustainability.
Collaborate with division and regional leadership to improve operational efficiency, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and professional society activities to reinforce ECS's technical reputation and industry leadership.
Coordinate with corporate risk management on issues related to technical liability, professional practice, and claims avoidance.
Promote teamwork and the company-wide facilities resources available.
Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Licensure as a Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
20+ years of experience in building enclosure design or consulting, building diagnostics, forensic evaluation, or code consulting.
If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
Proven leadership in technical development, project quality control, and staff mentorship.
Strong working knowledge of building envelope systems, building codes, construction materials, and industry standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead, train, and influence technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and uphold ECS's commitment to technical excellence and client service.
Expert level technical experience in building envelope design and consulting services.
Experienced in the design and implementation of facility asset management systems.
Experienced in property condition assessments, roofing design and consulting and forensic failure investigations.
Strong marketing and business development abilities, proven successful P&L responsibility, and strong leadership skills.
Excellent decision making skills.
The expected pay range for this role and location is $215,000 - $235,000/year. The final agreed‑upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
