The Director of Application Solution Delivery is the leader accountable for the delivery of software applications that enable our associates in the field to best support our customer’s needs. The position is responsible for developing and delivering three technical communities of practice: Business Systems Analysis, Engineering, and Quality Assurance. The Director will develop a software delivery roadmap to align and support prioritized critical initiatives, delivering with speed and ingenuity.

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Newport News, VA HQ. In accordance with the Flex schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Fulfill the mission and vision of the Trilogie Engineering and Operations team to encourage a performance‑focused culture and continual service improvement.

Lead the development of the ERP Engineering strategy and roadmap, ensuring integration with overall technology strategic plans.

Work with technology leadership on the service portfolio and governance to prioritize resources.

Drive the development of ERP Engineering technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.

Lead end‑to‑end delivery of innovative business applications that empower associates and delight customers.

Oversee all enhancements to the ERP platform, including the ERP Modernization Program.

Identify opportunities to innovate and transform the legacy ERP platform.

Define and develop highly functional, nimble solution delivery teams.

Be accountable for all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Influence the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for ERP Engineering.

Support ERP Engineering sourcing strategy and oversee vendor and partner relationship management.

Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to security policies in collaboration with the CISO and Security team.

Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the ERP Engineering leadership team and staff.

Collaborate with HR and technology leadership to develop a people strategy aligned with technology strategy.

Forecast future skill needs and build a workforce that balances agility and reliability.

Drive Ferguson culture through values and customer service standards.

Maintain effective relationships through timely communication.

Respond to and resolve customer service issues promptly.

Adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.

At least 12 years of experience in the technology industry, including 8 years in IT leadership positions.

Leadership experience with 25 or more highly skilled IT associates.

Proven experience managing portfolios of software.

Deep understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.

Proven leadership ability to demonstrate the business value of IT.

In‑depth knowledge of off‑the‑shelf applications, cloud applications, and custom applications.

Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff.

Effective influencing and negotiation skills with limited direct control over resources.

Excellent analytical skills and strong follow‑through abilities.

Strong business sense, including domain‑specific knowledge of enterprise and its business units.

Expertise in budget planning and financial management.

Success in applying ITIL and emerging methods such as DevOps to achieve agility.

Ability to develop and implement a strategic people plan that ensures the right people are in the right roles and remain highly engaged.

Strong vendor management and partner relationship skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range $9,409.50 – $17,833.30 (Monthly for salaried roles; hourly for other roles). This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible.
