The Director FP&A – Marketing will serve as a strategic finance leader supporting enterprise-wide marketing and customer-acquisition efforts across all 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. brands. This role partners closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, Marketing Leads, and the Corporate Finance team to drive profitable growth through data-driven decision making, performance optimization, and long-term strategic planning. The ideal candidate brings deep marketing-finance expertise, strong analytical acumen, and the ability to influence senior leadership in a fast-paced, multi-brand ecommerce DTC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing insight to support investment decisions and business cases.
Collaborate with Marketing and eCommerce leaders to align financial goals with business strategies.
Lead the monthly forecast, annual budget, and long-range planning process in collaboration with business leaders.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and analyses, including KPIs, and provide financial guidance on channel performance.
Develop frameworks to evaluate effectiveness and ROI of paid media, CRM/retention programs, promotional strategies, and brand campaigns.
Drive a data-driven approach to optimizing spend allocation across channels (search, social, email, affiliate, marketplace, retail media, etc.).
Own financial measurement of CAC, CLV, conversion rates, cost-per-order, return on ad spend, and attribution methodologies.
Monitor KPIs such as conversion rates, traffic, paid media effectiveness, and ROI.
Lead financial modeling for pricing, promotions, loyalty programs, and partnerships.
Review forecast and expense trends and analyze variances between actuals and forecasts; deliver actionable insights to improve performance.
Support eCommerce initiatives including site improvements, A/B testing, product launches, UX enhancements, personalization, and funnel optimization.
Partner with data analytics and BI teams to enhance reporting capabilities.
Develop dashboards and executive-ready presentations to communicate trends, risks, and opportunities.
Support month-end close process and analyze actual performance vs. plan, prior year, and current forecast.
Proactively identify and execute on areas where process improvement is needed; streamline and reengineer reporting and processes to maximize efficiency.
Identifying, scoping and delivering on special projects and ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications
10+ years of FP&A or strategic finance experience, ideally within eCommerce, retail, consumer products, or subscription businesses.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, performance media, attribution, marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, attribution, conversion, and media mix), and online commercialization.
Proven experience partnering with Marketing and Digital leaders in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Advanced proficiency with financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics tools (Excel, dashboards/BI platforms, and marketing analytics tools).
Experience with Oracle EPM preferred
Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills; thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
The expected salary range for this position is $175,000 - $195,000. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
