About the Role The Web team at Cash App takes a horizontal view of the Cash App experience, collaborating with brand, product and engineering partners to build next‑generation experiences that power the future of Cash App.
We are seeking an imaginative and driven designer to lead the visual design, motion and evolution of our web surfaces.
This is a hands‑on role for a designer passionate about building and evolving systems from concept through execution.
Responsibilities
Drive visual design evolution: lead the aesthetic and experience of the website alongside leads and our Design Systems team, ensuring the Cash App brand comes to life online.
Lead with an AI‑first design and development mindset.
Shape core aspects of the Cash App website: establish and evolve UI, including building data visualization and motion application.
Elevate brand expression: integrate our brand into the product through innovative and opinionated visual design and asset libraries, creating unique brand moments at user touchpoints.
Build systematically: help build our design system, creating comprehensive frameworks, documentation and libraries that other designers can follow.
End‑to‑end accountability: obsess over the process from early concept through implementation, ensuring a beautifully crafted outcome.
Coach the creative direction: be a trusted advisor on all things Cash App’s visual language for partners and system consumers.
Help shape the future of finance and empower customers to manage their money.
Lead work driving fundamental concepts across mobile and desktop.
Contribute to high‑level strategic decisions with product and executive teams.
Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality.
Qualifications
Experience building and evolving websites and apps.
A passion for turning complex problems into simple and engaging websites.
Outstanding systems thinking, visual design and product thinking for websites.
Experience applying research, usability tests and metrics to inform design decisions.
Comfort with an iterative design process that includes accepting and acting on feedback.
Strong analytical, technical and strategic experience.
Experience defining motion libraries for UI.
Experience building data visualization libraries consumed by product teams.
Experience collaborating across disciplines to lead or support a new idea or product launch.
Experience conducting and guiding user research and cross‑functional collaboration.
Proven skills in presenting work, workshopping concepts and evangelizing new ideas.
Experience with front‑end engineering constraints and direct experience partnering with Front‑end Engineering (iOS/Android).
Experience designing for inclusivity and for diverse audiences (international audiences, multi‑language localization, accessibility for people with disabilities).
6+ years of experience on creative teams and in technical environments.
8+ years of software design, visual design, interaction design, UX design and prototyping experience.

Compensation Block’s market‑based approach to pay means salaries may vary depending on location.
U.S. locations are divided into four zones based on a cost‑of‑labor index.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
These ranges may be modified in the future.
