**Job no:**R-0000002621**Position Title:**Assistant Professor of Film Media Theater**Work Type:**FacultyFull timeIn-Person**Start Date:**07/01/2026**Job Description:**The at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin on July 1, 2026. We seek candidates with wide-ranging knowledge of theatre and performance history. While we welcome multiple areas of specialization, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach widely across the curriculum, including introductory courses in theater practice and history and intermediate survey courses that cross historical periods. The candidate will also contribute to the departmental curriculum by offering upper-level seminars in their area of specialization. Secondary areas of expertise that would be particularly welcome include Directing, Acting, and other production-based specialties. This position will carry a 2/2 teaching load that includes undergraduate advising, project-based and independent study advising, and departmental and university service.A PhD or ABD is required, however, we will also consider candidates with the MFA who demonstrate considerable teaching experience. The candidate should have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion.
