Develops overall fundraising strategy for individual donors including, but not limited to, on‑air campaigns, direct mail, major giving, planned giving, employer matching gifts, and all donor communications. Crafts short‑term and long‑term strategy in each of the individual giving areas and maintains all donor information in customer relationship management database.

  • Develops and executes year‑round schedule for direct mail, electronic, and telephone communications for new, renewal, additional gift, and lapsed solicitations
  • Develops and executes year‑round stewardship communications for current donors
  • Maintains donor database for tracking all information regarding donors, donations, thank you gifts, and payment status
  • Enters and confirms donor data and premium information in CRM
  • Compiles, analyzes and provides detailed reports to General Manager, as requested

  • Schedules on‑air membership campaigns and establishes on‑air goals in coordination with the General Manager
  • Selects thank you gifts and associated mailing supplies and coordinates orders with other staff, as necessary
  • Prepares all on‑air materials, trains staff and on‑air hosts for pitching
  • Produces on‑air campaign and assists in the oversight and training of staff, students, and volunteers regarding procedures for answering phones and data entry
  • Ensures all thank you gifts are prepared and mailed to donors in a timely manner

  • Develops and manages overall departmental budget including technology, direct mail, and thank you gifts
  • Develops overall giving strategy to grow and maintain individual donors to the station, including entry‑level, mid‑level and lapsed donors
  • Develops major giving strategy and modifies, as necessary, to embrace current best practices

  • Experience in non‑profit, donor driven fundraising

Other Factors

  • Attend meetings during off‑shift hours.
  • Required to work off‑shift or odd‑shift hours after dark and may be working alone.
  • Required to promote and solicit support for radio station activities and products.
  • Requested to attend off‑site promotions and marketing events in support for radio station activities.

Experience / Education

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Three (3) years of successful non‑profit donor relationship experience, public media preferred; Two‑ or Four‑Year college degree, or additional qualifying experience allowed as a substitution year‑for‑year

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work will be considered.
